Job Tickner1

M, #880, b. 9 September 1817
| Note - Research* | Bronwen Tickner comments: "Job's Father (John TICKNER) was not a witness at this marriage (of Job and Jane) nor at the marriages of Job's siblings. All the siblings are registered in the Quaker records for Sussex and on each it says "Not intitled to membership". Job's parents, John TICKNER and Phoebe CHARLWOOD appear to have been married at the Parish Church in Horsham in 1816. This would mean that the children would not have "qualified" as true Quakers. This may be the reason that John TICKNER was not a witness at any of the marriages. It seems likely that Phoebe was a Quaker and John was not. This is being pursued in the Quaker Records at The East Sussex Records Office."3 |
