  • Dorothy Simpson Coxon was born 18 October 1871 at Dinnington, England, .1
  • She was the daughter of John Coxon and Mary Elizabeth Bell.
  • Dorothy Simpson Coxon married Alec Ronalds.
  • Dorothy Simpson Coxon died after 15 January 1914 at Australia, . (The assumption has to be that Dora died in Australia. It seems that no member of the family in the recent past has been in contact with her family).1
  • On the night of the Census of 3 April 1881 she was living as the daughter of John Coxon at The Grocers Shop, Dinnington, England, .. John and his wife Mary are listed as being at the grocer's shop, Dinnington, in 1881. At the same time John's occupation is given as as Agricultural Labouer. We might guess that Mary ran the shop, whilst John went out to work.2
  • On the night of the Census of 3 April 1891 she was living as a daughter of John Coxon at Jacksons Buildings, Newbiggin by the Sea, England, .3
  • Dorothy Simpson Coxon emigrated on 15 January 1914 from Sydney, Australia, . (The Coxon Family Bible records Dora's departure to Australia).1

Edward Coxon

b. say 1750, #326
  • Edward Coxon was born say 1750 (DOB estimated from DOM).1
  • He married Margaret Buckham 21 March 1775 at The Parish Church, Elsdon, England, . (This is a bit of a long shot! In the Longfram Presbyterian church records a Margaret is shown as the mother of some of the children to Edward Coxon. In the IGI an Edward Coxon married Margaret Buckham at Elsdon in 1775, a few months before Edward's first child Agnes was born. It is believed that William Coxon moved from Redesdale to Overgrass. Could Edward and Margaret also have moved to Coquetdale from Redesdale?).1,2
  • Researcher's Note: I have linked Agnes (c 1775) and Frances (c 1777) to the same father Edward. This link remains to be proven.
  • Edward Coxon was Presbyterian.
